Score
Word scores are calculated using the official Scrabble letter values. The base score of a word is simply the sum of the points of its letters.
The choice of dictionary does not affect scoring. TWL and CSW differ only in which words are considered valid, not in how words are scored. If a word exists in both dictionaries, its base score is always identical.
Letter values
Letter values are fixed and identical for all English Scrabble dictionaries:
- 1 point: A, E, I, O, N, R, T, L, S, U
- 2 points: D, G
- 3 points: B, C, M, P
- 4 points: F, H, V, W, Y
- 5 points: K
- 8 points: J, X
- 10 points: Q, Z
- 0 points: ? (joker / blank tile)
Jokers always score zero points. Board bonuses such as double or triple letter and word scores are applied on the board itself and depend entirely on position.
