About

Scrabble is a classic word game played worldwide using officially maintained word lists. In competitive play, these word lists determine exactly which words are considered valid. For English-language games, two dictionaries are most commonly used: TWL and CSW.

TWL (Tournament Word List) is used primarily in the United States and Canada. It follows American English spellings and is relatively strict. CSW (Collins Scrabble Words) is used internationally and includes a broader range of accepted words, including British and regional variants. The difference between these dictionaries can significantly affect gameplay, which is why WordSolver.ai allows you to switch between them explicitly.

WordSolver.ai started as a personal challenge. After years working in electronics engineering, I was looking for something entirely different. At the time, my wife was playing Wordfeud and jokingly suggested building a small website to help find words. Without a programming background at the time, a simple solver was built — and unexpectedly, it attracted hundreds of thousands of users.

Over time, the project was improved and extended. A full board-solving engine was developed that could evaluate complete positions. While technically successful, it became clear that most players were not looking for maximum complexity. Many existing solvers felt slow, outdated, or unclear about why certain words appear — or do not.

WordSolver.ai was created to focus on what matters most: speed, correctness, and transparency. It works strictly with official dictionaries and deterministic logic. The project is not built for profit, but to remain reliable and cost-covering through minimal advertising.
